Born in Meadowlands, "Endofaya," Soweto, his practice explores heritage, Ubuntu, memory, labour and storytelling.
Drawing on his experience at Museum Africa and collaborations with institutions including Zeitz MOCAA, Market Photo Workshop, the Constitutional Court, Goethe-Institut, Latitudes and FNB Art Fair, he challenges conventional drawing through playful sketches, poetic captions and pareidolia-inspired forms.
His installations and writing explore identity, community and archives as connections between past, present and future. Through mentoring and collaborative projects, Zembe advances heritage-based storytelling, embodying art as labour, memory as resistance and creativity as communal renewal.
